While working with other elected officials, business owners, and the Chamber & Economic Partnership, Jeff has been part of Marion County's intelligent spending that has brought hundreds of new jobs to Marion County and millions of dollars in savings to its taxpayers. Jeff Gold is a property owner  and successful business owner in Marion County. RESPONSIBLE Leadership starts with responsible PERSONAL financial accountability. Jeff's personal and business financial stability is unwavering due to hard work and responsible spending. He has done the same as a commissioner and will continue to do so. 


Marion County's roads are improving daily!  With new projects and the future of adding more roadways and widening others, the future will be a smoother ride for all Marion County drivers. Jeff is the current Chairman of the Ocala Marion Transportation Planning Organization. The TPO is responsible for long term transportation in Ocala and all of Marion County. Jeff plays a key role in this organization and continues to serve all of Marion County.


Since taking office just over three years ago, Marion County's Public Safety has improved immensely. As a former firefighter, paramedic, and law enforcement officer, Jeff worked with other elected officials and public safety professionals to improve the working conditions of our valued first responders. These improvements resulted in the retention of hundreds of first responders, millions of dollars in savings to taxpayers, and a SAFER community for our citizens!

Public Service at the forefront

Starting off volunteering his time as a firefighter in Rolling Greens as their youngest firefighter. He put himself through EMT school and the fire academy and went to work at Shady Road (Station 16) as one of the first Marion County employees, while still volunteering his time with South Marion Fire Department (Station 18).

Self-sufficient and Loyal

He put himself through the law enforcement academy and paramedic school, earning a degree in Emergency Medical Services from Central Florida Community College. Even after being promoted to District Lieutenant with Marion County Fire Rescue, Jeff continued to volunteer his time with Dunnellon Police Department as a police officer. After becoming deputized as a sworn arson investigator for Marion County Fire Rescue, Jeff went to work at the Marion County Sheriff's Office for Sheriff Don Moreland.

Still in Action

Jeff had a long and distinguished career with the Sheriff's Department and retired as a patrol supervisor and Bomb Squad Commander. He continues to volunteer as a firefighter-paramedic for Marion County Fire Rescue and with Marion County's Emergency Management Division. To date, Jeff is one of the highest decorated deputies in the history of the Sheriff's Office with Medals of Valor from both the Sheriff's Department and Ocala Fire Department, numerous commendations and a Purple Heart for life threatening injuries he sustained in the line of duty.
